Biography

Photo of Michal D Drabanski

I have extensive training and expertise working with trauma, attachment, relationship problems, loss/grief, anxiety, self-esteem, depression, couples issues, emptiness, and “finding one’s self”. I also teach and supervise other psychotherapists; however what is professionally most important to me is being directly involved with others’ growth and healing.

I received my Master’s degree (MS) in Clinical Psychology in 1987, and certification in contemporary psychoanalysis from the National Institute of the Psychotherapies in 1995.  I am licensed in two states, Oregon and Missouri and have been in private practice working with individuals, couples, and occasionally groups continually for over 35 years.  For further biographical information, please contact me.  I am happy to answer any questions you may have.

Notes

Are there seemingly “insurmountable” obstacles in your life? Are you feeling sad, lonely, angry, anxious, or empty, but you can’t figure out how or even what to change. Whether these struggles have recently developed or have been life-long, together we can work toward changes leading you to a more satisfying, fulfilling, and joyful life. For 30+ years, I’ve been effectively using talk therapy with couples and individuals helping them to express, feel and sort out their unique struggles. Their clarity, purpose, and coping skills improve, leading to a more vibrant connection with themselves and those around them.
As a contemporary psychoanalyst, my style is practical and interactive. I will listen carefully to your specific therapeutic needs and focus on helping you discover and develop yourself, while increasing your effectiveness, joy and love. History may help you understand yourself, but your present concerns will guide our explorations.
